Job Description Job Description Network Security Engineer / Security Analyst Location: Dallas, TX Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Schedule: Monday - Friday, Day Shift Setting: Healthcare / Hospital Environment Job Summary We are seeking a Network Security Engineer / Security Analyst to join a healthcare organization's Information Security team. This role is responsible for helping protect critical systems, networks, and sensitive data by supporting cybersecurity operations, security monitoring, threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of information security principles, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity best practices, with a passion for defending enterprise environments against evolving cyber threats. Key Responsibilities Research and investigate emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits.
Perform log analysis and network forensic investigations to identify and respond to security events.
Support security technologies and processes used for scanning, testing, monitoring, and reporting.
Assist with the implementation of security initiatives that improve threat detection and response capabilities.
Develop and enhance alerting and monitoring strategies to identify unusual or malicious activity.
Conduct network security scans, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing activities.
Participate in security incident response efforts and assist with investigations following security breaches.
Support technical risk assessments and security reviews for systems, applications, and network infrastructure.
Assist in maintaining and supporting security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS solutions, SIEM platforms, VPN systems, antivirus solutions, and data protection tools.
Ensure adherence to organizational security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Stay current with cybersecurity trends, threats, technologies, and industry best practices.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
Knowledge of network security concepts, cybersecurity operations, and threat detection methodologies.
Experience with security tools such as SIEM platforms, firewalls, IDS/IPS solutions, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection technologies.
Understanding of incident response, risk assessment, and security monitoring practices.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
