About
SUMMARY: To welcome guests and provide superior service. Responsible for a high level of guest service as described in your departments guest service standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet guests, take food and beverage orders, deliver orders, check back, ensure satisfaction and pre-bus tables
- Operate point-of-sales system and handle cash and cash equivalents
- Answer questions, provide menu suggestions and offer event and promotional information
- Complete stocking and cleaning duties
- Help clean tables and surrounding areas after guests leave
- Provide assistance and break coverage to coworkers
- Communicate with coworkers and management to ensure superior service to guests
KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and Certification
Required:
- 6 months Server experience; or 6 months Currents hosting experience
- Previous point-of-sales systems experience
- Previous cash handling experience
Preferred:
- High School Diploma/GED
Skills
Required:
- Accurate and detail-oriented
- Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Above average math skills
Abilities
Required:
- Ability to work fast and efficiently
- Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene
- Ability to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous manner
- Ability to enthusiastically and professionally sell and up-sell food & beverage products
- Ability to speak in a clear, concise and pleasant voice
- Ability to complete multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining a professional manner
REQUIRED TRAINING
- Treasure Island guest service training
- TIPS training and certification
- Bloodborne Pathogens training
- Training on Treasure Island food handling procedures
- Any position-related training as determined by department manager
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to walk and / or stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to 8 hours
- Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel
- Must be able to reach and twist routinely
- Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely
- Must have the ability to independently lift up to 25 pounds routinely
- Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions
- Must have good eye hand coordination
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Work is performed in the restaurant but may require going onto the gaming floor which includes flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke
- Must be able to work in cramped, tight quarters
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays
- Occasionally overtime may be required
- Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals
- High volume direct public contact
