About
Outside Sales Representative (Full-Time)
An exciting opportunity to drive sales of our expanding product line, including:
- Tropical and domestic hardwood decking, siding, fencing, ceiling, and flooring
- Decking fasteners, accessories, and railing systems
- Synthetic dock, decking, and railing products
This role requires 3-4 days per week prospecting in the field and 1-2 days in the office.
Key responsibilities include:
- Product expertise: Master our full range of hardwood and synthetic products and internal procedures.
- Sales communication: Clearly articulate product benefits and solutions to new and existing customers, in person and by phone.
- Market awareness: Track industry trends and competitor offerings to position AdvantageLumber.com as the go-to provider.
- Prospecting & pipeline management: Generate new opportunities, qualify leads, manage your pipeline, and close new accounts.
- Industry presence: Represent AdvantageLumber.com at trade shows, networking events, and industry functions.
- Digital engagement: Use company social media to post relevant content, engage prospects, and drive leads.
- Client relationships: Build and maintain long-term partnerships that lead to repeat business and referrals.
- Team collaboration: Work closely with operations, customer service, and vendor partners to ensure seamless order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
Work hours:
- MondayFriday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Occasional after-hours and weekends for networking and client needs
Compensation & benefits:
- Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience) plus uncapped commission
- Full-time benefits after 90 days, including:
- Paid vacation, sick, and holiday time

Job requirements:
- Industry experience in building materials, lumber, decking/railing, or construction supply (or closely related).
- Outside sales experience with a proven track record of new business development and account growth.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Reliability, punctuality, and accountability.
- Drive, competitiveness, and commitment to sales success.
- Professionalism, teamwork, and a customer-first mindset.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (NetSuite preferred) and Microsoft Word/Excel.
Preferred experience & skills:
- Knowledge of lumber measurements and basic construction.
- Experience selling synthetic decking/railing.
- Ability to manage multiple customer accounts effectively.
