Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Access in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer at a dynamic local government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. In this armed role, you will support daily operations with professionalism, integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach while adapting to the needs of the location with agility and reliability.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining an armed presence in accordance with post orders and applicable guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and perimeter, noting and reporting unusual activity and/or conditions.
  • Complete required reports and document incidents, observations, and security-related activities in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with site contacts, visitors, and/or local responders as needed to support security-related operations at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
