Senior Sales Manager
Pay Salary Range: $70,000-$106,000
The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for selling groups with guestrooms and events, building and maintaining long‑term relationships, aligning customer preferences with brand needs, and actively qualifying business opportunities to maximize revenue and drive customer loyalty. They will also manage accounts, host hotel tours, network, entertain clients, and participate in client events, tradeshows, and conferences.
Responsibilities
Sell guest rooms, meeting space, and other services to customer groups; manage accounts and conduct hotel tours, solicitations, and generate business.
Prepare and present effective proposals and presentations, maintain organized documentation and reports, use Hyatt systems, and coordinate customer service requirements.
Participate in or lead sales and event meetings and other staff meetings.
Organize and participate in client entertainment/FAMs, special promotions, tours, tradeshows, and conferences.
Assist in creating and implementing special promotions for direct sales segments.
Maximize sales occupancy and rates in conjunction with hotel operations to increase profits and group room sales.
Prospect new business using various sales methods, including phone calls, outside sales calls, attending tradeshows and conferences, and active industry participation.
Establish and build successful relationships that generate sales opportunities.
Effectively communicate client requirements and ensure all information is accurate between client and hotel.
Ensure business is turned over accurately and in a timely manner to ensure high‑level service delivery.
Analyze and conduct market research to understand competitive set, market conditions, and current trends to maximize revenue and market position.
Negotiate, prepare, and execute contracts that meet the hotel’s business plan objectives.
Problem‑solve and develop solutions to meet clients’ important requirements and needs.
Maintain or exceed sales goals as assigned by the DOSM.
Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years prior hotel group sales experience is required.
Upscale or luxury hotel experience is preferred.
Exceptional prospecting and negotiation skills.
Strong revenue management skills to create financially sound group sales proposals.
Competitive spirit with ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and a strong desire to exceed revenue goals/expectations.
Excellent customer service skills; demonstrates a positive attitude and is hospitable. Creative, genuine, transparent, service‑driven and passionate about exceeding Guest Expectations.
Seeks out and participates in available training opportunities and applies learning and newly identified best practices where possible.
Responds to all issues (internal and external) in a positive manner and takes action to resolve.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
A strategic and dynamic thinker.
Must be proficient in general computer knowledge.
Knowledge of Envision Sales and other Hyatt systems is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or business management is preferred.
Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, and strong attention to detail.
Ability to travel for tradeshows, conferences, and development.
