Vice President of Global Data & Analytics
Use of data, analytics and AI to fuel decision making and drive innovation are exciting opportunities for Visa. Our GDO is leaning into new data & analytics innovation and Gen/Agentic AI opportunities and seeking talent to enable bold transformation. Strong thought leadership, strategic skills and an operational mindset are critical to our future success and meaningful innovation. To enable this, a new Vice President of Global Data & Analytics will report to the Chief Data Officer and will be accountable for an exciting set of ambitious responsibilities. As a core member of GDO Leadership Team, this leader will be at the frontier of leading both mature and newly formed teams to help us deliver on our bold ambitions. This role will be a critical catalyst for data, analytics and AI innovation, the possibilities from Gen and Agentic AI to help internal partners across Visa to make more informed decisions and optimize their business operations via insights and analytical decision-making & optimization tools. The leader should be a thought partner to various senior leaders across the organization to help make Visa an even better company via data, insights and AI. The Vice President of Global Data & Analytics (D&A) will be responsible for establishing and guiding a team to execute on strategic priorities and shared team objective and key results across the GDO. The role will lead the following units: (1) Central Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEMEA) Regional Internal D&A function, (2) European Union and UK (EU) Regional Internal D&A function, (3) Latin American and the Caribbean (LAC) Region Internal D&A function, (4) Commercial Money Solutions (CMS) Internal D&A function, (5) Value-Added Services Internal D&A function, (6) Marketing & Finance Internal D&A function, (7) Merchant Data D&A function and (8) (matrix relationship) co-lead the GDO Strategic Analytics Function. In addition, the leader will be expected to collaborate with other D&A and Data Science practices and teams across Visa to drive standardization and innovation best practices via communities of interest and shared tool development. Those who are known as perseverant problem solvers, visionary leaders, uncovering elegant solutions, as well as externally recognized analytical and AI thought leaders capable of bringing others along to define and deliver what is needed for a business to succeed are well suited to consider the role. Ideal candidates would be skilled in change management, high-performing teams, innovative AI solutions, and global leadership. Essential Functions In close partnership with respective business unit leaders, define and deliver the overall Data, Analytics and AI strategy, organization and roadmap for each business unit. As a D&A General Manager to each respective business unit, work with partners across the GDO and Tech to deliver high impact analytical decision-making and optimization tools, (Gen and Agentic AI) innovations and help define the data and analytical foundation for Visa to be the most data-driven and AI-first payments company. Internal thought-leader across all the various data science and D&A teams across Visa. Build a community of interest, with standardized best practices and innovative tools/salutations that drive predacity and unleash the creativity of our D&A community. Drive innovative business application of data and (Gen and Agentic) AI to solve business problems as a key source of Visa value-add for clients and internal value delivery Act as a strong customer for enterprise analytical and data platforms and capabilities Attract, develop and retain a high-performing team of full-time employees specialized in analytics, data science and AI/ML across multiple global locations Competencies Very strong analytical mindset and superior problem-solving ability, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor. Strong business and commercial acumen Deep technical (Gen and Agentic) AI and ML expertise Demonstrated experience building and scaling business intelligence solutions, analytical decision-making and optimization tools, valuations / customer-life cycle tools. Deep understanding of concepts of working with and profitably utilizing big data in financial institutions and payments. Highly adaptive, comfortable working within a complex, and often ambiguous, environment. Equally capable of thriving with changing circumstances. Comfort and experience working in a global, matrixed global institution Ability to rapidly comprehend changes in the business landscape (whether regulatory, competitive, or business-related) and design around the expected impact. Exceptional team management and leadership skills that excel in dynamic and global workplace. Proven record to drive effective organizational change and culture change. Exceptional coach and People Manager invested in the growth and development of a newly formed team. Proven record delivering innovation while simultaneously strengthening core operations, product, and solutions Strong delivery and risk management frameworks to ensure safe and scalable deployment of innovative solutions Very strong executive communication skills and executive presence to lead cross-organizational change and delivery. Exceptional at quarterly budget and external contractor management, especially to drive outstanding results in budget and on time Exceptional stakeholder management skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility with senior leaders across a federated organization, despite sometimes competing priorities. Self-starter who can responsibly advance work and is comfortable making sound, well-informed judgement calls for progress, without needless delays Be a strong, trusted internal spokesperson and advocate for Visa's responsible data and AI use culture, our supporting Data Values and Policies. A true leader in the AI community- internally and externally. This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager. Qualifications Basic Qualifications• 12 or more years of work experience with a bachelor's Degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 8 years of work experience with a PhD Preferred Qualifications• 15 or more years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, PhD). 15+ years of work experience in high-profile/high-impact project management• Experience building data science or data & analytics organization across financial institutions or payment companies. • Advanced experience leading large, multi-disciplinary (data science, data engineering, AI scientist, BI scientist) teams • Advanced experience and knowledge of Gen AI, Agentic AI and ML – including Python. Experience with Open Source software.• Advanced project management skills with the use of Project Management software• Curious and lifelong learner who keeps us to date on emerging trends and technology• successful track record of operating cross-functionally, ideally in a federated enterprise design• Proven ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects with evolving requirements• Team player possessing a strong drive to add value to the business direction• Ability to influence the organization in order to make strategy happen U.S. Applicants Only The estimated salary range for this position is $237,800 to $490,100 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program. Work Hours Varies upon the needs of the department. Travel Requirements This position requires travel 5-10% of the time. Mental/Physical Requirements This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
