Sales Engineer

McKenna Engineering has been offering high quality process engineering equipment and expert services; in addition to equipment sales, the company provides Application Engineering, System Engineering including design and integration, Fabrication Services, Modular Packaging as a System Integrator, Equipment Installation as well as Equipment Service & Repair. We have grown to serve the entire United States and global clients from our base in California.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual ultimately responsible for the successful growing sales in Fresno, Madera, Merced, Stanislaus, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and Monterey counties. This will be accomplished by selling products on our line cards and offering the below services to increase potential of the opportunity. These services include engineering & design, construction & installation, field service, service & repair, and offering complete system packages. The products that we service are centrifugal pumps, industrial blowers, vacuum pumps, gas compressors, industrial fans, sanitary process equipment, and municipal process equipment. We sell equipment in almost every industry in California. This is a commission sales position.

Sales Responsibilities
  • 12-14 In person sales calls / week Meeting with customers to discuss projects, equipment we have to offer, and meeting the customers' needs
  • Taking notes during the sales calls to make sure you have all the data you need to properly size the equipment
  • Being able to describe the customers process to the engineering team to help you properly size the equipment
  • Writing complete proposals with a complete scope of supply
  • Updating our Salesforce (CRM) daily with:
    • Information on the sales calls made that day
    • The opportunities you have uncovered
    • New customer contact information
    • Upcoming meetings and scheduled events
  • Following up with customers on open opportunities and as they get closer to issuing a purchase order
  • Upon receipt of a purchase order, you must be able to provide an order write-up form, a cost sheet, proposal, and a copy of the purchase order to handoff to either customer service or our engineering team to process the order.
  • Continually learn about the features, functions, & benefits of the equipment we offer
  • Manage projects from a 10,000ft level to keep a pulse on the project and being able to update the customer as needed.
  • Being a team leader with a positive "Can Do" attitude
Qualifications/Experience/Competencies

Ability to feel comfortable speaking with customers

  • Four Year Higher Education Degree Engineering preferred
  • Five (2-5) year related Experience
  • Strong/motivated work ethic
  • Ability to communicate with customers
  • Strong decision-making capabilities
  • Work well with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
  • Must live within the geographical territory (counties listed above)
