Senior Civil Design Engineer - Water Infrastructure Working Location Hemel Hempstead (Hybrid with site visits) Permanent Working Pattern: Hybrid flexibility with office and site exposure Overview Join an engineering team delivering civil and infrastructure design across major clean water, wastewater, and utility projects throughout the UK. This is a strong opportunity for a Civil Design Engineer looking to work on technically challenging infrastructure schemes across regulated water frameworks and long-term AMP programmes. Key Responsibilities Producing civil engineering design deliverables across clean water and wastewater projects Developing practical and efficient design solutions from scopes and site visits Preparing calculations, reports, specifications, and design risk assessments Supporting drainage, pipelines, pumping stations, roads, and associated infrastructure design Coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and contractors Supporting design reviews, constructability input, and project delivery activities Managing design changes and ensuring technical compliance Supporting programme planning and estimating activities Requirements 5+ years civil design experience within the UK regulated water industry Experience supporting infrastructure, clean water, or wastewater projects Experience producing hydraulic calculations and hydraulic profiles Strong understanding of civil engineering standards and design deliverables Degree, HND, or equivalent engineering background Chartered or working toward chartership Strong communication and technical reporting capability Full UK driving licence beneficial
