Maintenance Manager

Our client is a Tier 1+2 supplier of injection molded components to German OEMs located in commuting range of Anderson, SC and Gainesville, GA. As the Maintenance Manager, you would lead a team of 10 technicians and supervisors in their activities on a 2-3 shift operation. Objectives The responsibility of the Maintenance Manager is to oversee all functions of the Maintenance area. They will perform the assigned tasks according to the direction of their manager. The Maintenance Manager will report to the President.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all maintenance functions and personnel
  • Prepare reports and documentation for maintenance area as required.
  • Maintenance and repair of injection molding machines, mills, control instruments, extraction units, water and compressor systems, dryer and vibration welding systems.
  • Perform maintenance and reconstruction work throughout the plant
  • Construction of special controls for different machines (e.g. internal gas pressure, etc)
  • Performing of all installations throughout the facilities such as cabling, electrical, lighting, telephone, etc.
  • Gripper construction for extraction units
  • Scheduling work orders to minimize production disruption
  • Ordering and maintaining working spare parts
  • Support tool servicing of the relevant hot runner systems and core pulling systems (hydraulically, electrically, and pneumatically)
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and utilized effectively
  • Monitor parts and labor budget and staffing requirements
  • Responsible for supervision, training, and evaluation of maintenance employees
  • Support the implementation of the defined 5s standard
  • Ensure that all safety guidelines outlined by OSHA and The COMPANY are followed
  • Report immediately any changes in quality, production, safety, security, and environment to the Vice President
  • Coordinate with all departments of the company to promote good communication, good quality, and the best interest of the company
  • Independent monitoring after initial training and informs appropriate employee of any issues.
  • Independent recognition of flaw features as well as actively contributing to detecting defects.
  • Forwards suggestions for improvement to manager.
  • Comply with all regulations regarding workplace safety and accident prevention in everyday operations as well as informing the manager if deviations are detected during the shift.

  • Maintain effective communication with all other departments and locations
  • Hands-on in production area as needed
  • Behave in a positive manner that enhances the success of the company
  • Maintain effective communication with all other departments and locations
  • Accurately complete appropriate paperwork and/or enter into computer as required
  • Assist in the training of new employees
  • Continuous participation in improvement of processes and procedures
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the work areas
  • Supports staff to ensure all regulations regarding order and cleanliness are complied with throughout the company.
  • Contributes continuously to improve processes, procedures, operational figures, and informs the manager about suggestions for improvements.
  • Other management assigned tasks, as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Must have experience working with German OEM/suppliers
  • Must have electrical, HVAC, pneumatic, and robotics training/experience.
  • Must be able to demonstrate highly mechanical and electrical aptitude to execute essential functions
  • Good communication skills with floor associates, vendor and managers
  • Required to read and write proficiently in English to understand manuals, directions, relative periodicals, etc. and communicate information in writing to associates, management and vendors
  • Must be able to prioritize and effectively execute multiple projects
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft programs
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Applicant must have five years maintenance experience
  • Applicant must have minimum 5 years plastic injection molding maintenance experience
  • Must have good vision and eyesight
  • Be a self-starter and work independently
  • Must be productive in a team environment
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk for extended periods of time
  • Must be willing to be on call and report to work during off hours when needed
  • Required to work overtime as scheduled
  • Occasionally travel to customers, vendors or other locations including international
