Within the Compensation and Benefit functionintegrated closely with Payroll and Financial Servicesthe Director Payroll or Compensation Director will support a 140-bed prominent, not-for-profit Public Hospital District serving Grays Harbor County, Washington, anchored by top-tier community benefit, an extensive multi-specialty footprint, state-of-the-art emergency/trauma care, and a seamless MEDITECH Expanse electronic medical records system that aligns data, timekeeping, and analytics; the Hospital Payroll Director will help translate this infrastructure into accurate, timely pay, compliant benefits administration, and insight-rich reporting that fuels strategic decisions across the organization.

Reporting to a seasoned Chief Financial Officer with matrixed partnership across Human Resources, Benefits, Revenue Cycle, Nursing, and Information Services, the Director Payroll Operations will lead a capable team supported by robust time and attendance platforms, automated reconciliations, and data dashboards; responsibilities for the Hospital Payroll Director include end-to-end payroll operations for multi-entity and multi-shift environments, benefit and retirement deductions, union and FLSA compliance, garnishments, audits, process improvement, payroll tax filings, and year-end activities while collaborating daily with friendly nurses and a diverse healthcare professional team to solve problems quickly and keep frontline caregivers focused on patients.
