The Virginia Department of Forensic Science (DFS) has recently relocated to a new, state‑of‑the‑art facility in Hanover County. This modern complex houses staff from the Central Laboratory, the Division of Technical Services, the Director’s Office, Administrative Offices, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. This position provides administrative and technical support to the Quality Assurance (QA) Section Supervisor and the Director of Technical Services. The Program Administration Specialist performs established routine QA functions and ensures that all QA files and records are accurately maintained, updated, and organized in accordance with agency standards. The position also ensures that safety files and records are properly maintained, updated, and organized as needed. Benefits

Minimum Qualifications
Familiarity with scientific laboratory operations, including QA and safety Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Familiarity with quality management software (QMS) Familiarity with ISO 17025 accreditation standards Experience with paper and electronic record keeping and filing systems Administrative and organizational skills Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Ability to maintain accurate records, evaluate data, prioritize and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision Eligible to possess a valid Virginia Driver’s License or have other means of reliable transportation Additional Considerations
Experience in a scientific laboratory Experience with Microsoft SharePoint Experience performing and documenting QA procedures Experience using quality management software (QMS) Background Investigation
Selected candidate(s) will be required to successfully complete a background investigation, including a fingerprint‑based criminal history check. Candidate(s) must also provide a DNA sample via buccal swab (saliva) and successfully pass a drug test. Reference checks will be conducted and will include contact with current and previous supervisors. Employment Eligibility Verification
