In this role, you will bridge the gap between physical hardware and computer code, taking ownership of the entire firmware lifecycle from initial proof-of-concept to production-ready software. As a senior member of the team, you will also mentor junior engineers and collaborate closely with cross-functional hardware and product teams.**Key Responsibilities*** **Architecture & Design:** Define high-level software architecture, state machines, and sequence diagrams for robust, low-power embedded systems.* **Firmware Development:** Write, test, and optimize clean, maintainable, and high-performance code in C/C++ for bare-metal systems, Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), or embedded Linux.* **Hardware-Software Integration:** Partner closely with hardware engineers to bring up new boards and interface code with sensors, power management circuits, and analog electronics.* **Testing & Troubleshooting:** Debug complex system-level bugs using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and digital multimeters.* **Mentorship & Leadership:** Conduct rigorous code reviews, establish engineering best practices, and guide junior and mid-level engineers.**Core Technical Requirements*** **Education:** Master's degree in Electrical Engineering* **Experience:** 10+ years of hands-on experience in embedded software/firmware development.* **Programming:** Deep proficiency in legacy and modern development languages* **Hardware Platforms:** Extensive experience working with microcontrollers/microprocessors* **Protocols:** In-depth understanding of standard communication protocols and buses.* **Tools:** Expert familiarity with hardware debugging tools* **Military Domain/Weapon Systems Experience**: 10 years of documented and verifiable military systems, technical, and maintenance experience. Military technical instructor experience preferred**Security Clearance Requirement*** Must have a current TS/SCI security clearance or be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance to start work.Radiance Technologies is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
