Job Summary The Tax Senior, Digital Transformation & Innovation (DT&I) drives value to the tax practice through the creation, change‑management, deployment, and support of processes and technologies needed to meet market demands. The role coordinates with the tax practice and DT&I team to create and implement technology tools for clients and professionals.
Responsibilities
Participates in change management initiatives, ensuring smooth adoption of new and existing processes and technologies.
Supports deployment of firm‑developed and third‑party tax technology tools.
Creates comprehensive training materials and delivers engaging training sessions on firm‑standard technologies.
Collaborates with technology product and development teams to define product requirements for new tax tools and solutions.
Evaluates tax processes for maximum efficiency and accuracy; identifies bottlenecks and implements solutions that streamline operations.
Provides ongoing support to the tax practice, acting as a point of contact for technology‑related queries and challenges.
Assists in planning and execution of change management and product deployment plans as needed.
Tracks project progress, performance indicators, and provides observations for improvement discussions.
Supports project communication efforts by organizing information and drafting updates.
Contributes to creation and/or delivery of training for products/processes/projects.
Provides user support on technology products and processes.
Assists with implementation of internally developed and third‑party firm‑standard tax technology on engagements.
Documents product business requirements and communicates them to developers.
Performs testing on products and processes.
Provides comprehensive feedback to team members, addressing strengths and opportunities for improvement.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Acts as a direct supervisor to team members, as assigned.
Acts as a mentor, as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Information Systems preferred.
Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or J.D. preferred.
Three (3) years or more of combined tax and technology experience, with at least two (2) years in tax.
Working toward relevant business, accounting, project management, or technology certification preferred (e.g., CPA, EA, PMP).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Experience with tax software such as ONESOURCE, GoSystem, CorpTax, SurePrep, and/or CCH Axcess preferred.
Experience with Azure DevOps preferred.
Self‑starter; strong verbal and written communication skills; strong analytical and critical thinking; proactive mindset; foundational knowledge of U.S. direct/indirect taxation; ability to work deadline‑driven and handle multiple projects.
Foundational knowledge of process design and improvement, including lean‑six sigma principles.
Benefits and Compensation Individual salaries determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
National Range: $75,000 - $110,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $75,000 - $110,000
