Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Access Patrol Driver in Rocky Mount, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed, driving patrol officer in a manufacturing and industrial location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, help to deter security-related incidents, and support access activity with strong customer service and communication. This role is ideal for someone who values teamwork, acts with integrity, and brings an agile, reliable, and innovative approach to visible patrol presence and site support.

Pay Rate: $20.31 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and sharing relevant information with site contacts and/or local authorities when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout production areas, warehouses, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, verify access permissions for restricted areas, and support truck, delivery, and/or visitor processing in accordance with site protocols.
  • Maintain an armed presence in accordance with post orders and applicable laws, handling assigned equipment responsibly while remaining prepared to respond to security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Have access control and badge experience preferred.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
