The Consumer Lending Business Analyst (CLBA) serves as a critical liaison between business units and the data analytics team. Equipped with deep domain expertise, the CLBA excels at interpreting and translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements for data analysts. They ensure that analytical outputs directly align with strategic business objectives, ultimately delivering valuable, relevant insights that enable informed decision-making for stakeholders across the organization. This role requires an individual with strong analytical skills, expertise in data reporting, and a deep understanding of consumer lending processes and trends.
Responsibilities
Understand and maintain detailed knowledge of Consumer Lending
Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and insights
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs), key risk indicators (KRIs), and other business metrics
Develop and maintain comprehensive reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights to various stakeholders
Ensure data accuracy and integrity by performing regular data validation and quality checks
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and objectives
Provide data-driven recommendations to improve consumer lending strategies and operations
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the consumer lending lifecycle
Work closely with leadership to communicate findings and insights
Present complex data and analysis in a clear and concise manner to support decision-making processes
Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units to ensure alignment and understanding of data requirements
Utilize advanced analytical tools and software (e.g., SQL, Excel, Power BI) to analyze data and generate reports
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and reporting
Leverage statistical methods and predictive analytics to provide deeper insights into consumer lending behaviors and outcomes
Maintain knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting the area of expertise
Attend educational events to increase professional knowledge
Complete annual compliance and info security training to understand employees' role in maintaining effective compliance and security programs
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
3+ years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, or a related field, preferably within the financial services industry
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Databricks, Excel, Power BI)
Experience with statistical analysis and predictive modeling preferred
Ability to prioritize tasks by effectively managing competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines
Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management
Ability to analyze and resolve difficult and often complex problems or situations
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators
Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union products, services, policies, and procedures
Strong knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance
Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties
