The Design Engineer supports both the Engineering and Sales teams across ISAT’s nationwide branches. Responsibilities include preparing custom engineering packages, providing technical support, producing accurate drawings, managing project files, and collaborating with internal and external partners to deliver exceptional engineering solutions. Assist Custom Engineering Lead/Project Manager, reporting on daily tasks and status. Generate custom engineering packages including anchor calculations, suspended support designs, wall supports, riser supports, and roof-mounted designs. Record hours accurately in the billing tracking software Nexus. Gather information for custom engineering packages with assistance from Senior Engineers and stakeholders. Create basic custom engineering submittals including coversheets, backup calculations, and supporting documents. Produce accurate drafting details in AutoCAD and/or Revit. Generate quotes in collaboration with Sales and Branch PMs. Prepare seismic bracing layouts per ISAT manual, including legends and annotated layouts compliant with CBC, IBC, and UFC. Maintain knowledge of product line and apply appropriate support systems. Manage project file organization and adherence to file structure. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and NEXUS. Acquire basic knowledge of applicable codes (ASCE-7, IBC, UFC). Maintain an organized work environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain and safeguard department equipment and report suspicious activity. Qualifications and Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or related field) required. 4+ years of engineering or design experience preferred (entry‑level with strong aptitude considered). Experience in non-structural seismic applications is a plus. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD platforms. Ability to read and interpret construction plans. Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment. Must pass a background check.
