Position Summary
Ferguson is seeking a proven Outside Sales Representative – Facilities Supply to support customers in the Des Moines, Iowa area. This field‑based role requires you to be based in Des Moines and will receive a fuel card, auto allowance, travel and expense card, company cell phone and laptop. Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with assigned customers and vendors, collaborating with other branch associates to ensure flawless service from order to delivery and beyond. Grow "share of wallet" spend with active, new, and inactive customers by developing trust‑based relationships. Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the current customer base, devising and implementing sales strategies in collaboration with management. Perform product quotations and resolve customer issues with a focus on outstanding service. Analyze competition within the territory and communicate sales strategies to management. Continuously improve sales skills and product knowledge to maintain a professional image and enhance performance in the field and internally. Document all sales activities in our internal CRM tool (Salesforce) and Map My Customer to evaluate the new business pipeline and measure sales closure results. Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of industry‑related outside field sales experience. Experience and success within the Hospitality and/or Multifamily market is preferred, including building relationships with General Managers, Property Managers, Facility/Maintenance Supervisors, Engineers, and other key decision‑makers. Proven sales experience in a distribution and/or manufacturing environment is advantageous. Strong problem‑solving, leadership and active listening skills. Self‑motivated with the ability to multi‑task, learn quickly and retain information. Driven to meet objectives while possessing solid communication, time management and organizational skills. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams). Compensation & Benefits
This is a base plus commission‑eligible role with no cap on commission. The estimated total compensation range, based on performance and experience, is $75,000 – $100,000 +.
