QUALITY CONTROL MONITOR JOB SUMMARY Updated 16 June 2026
This position is cumbent on employment on a Federal Installation in which the applicant must be able to pass a federal background investigation. As an integral part of our QC team, you will report to the Project Manager.
You will be inspecting all stages and processes involving receiving, stocking, and custodial performance, and identifying issues and working closely with the assigned Government Quality Assurance Evaluator at the commissary site to correct any infractions before they are documented, as set forth within the contract between the contractor and the Defense Commissary Agency.
You will be responsible for assuring that any findings by the government are in fact IAW contract QWASP and are covered under the PWS in the contract. You will work closely with the project manager to correct any infractions found by yourself and if any infraction is brought forth by the government QAE representative. You will assist in helping training of employees in all aspects of contract.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Carry out quality assessment measures per evaluation of personnel performing duties in receiving, warehousing, stocking, custodial functions as covered by the QWASP and the PWS contract. Responsible for the daily oversight of the quality assurance program as it relates to all services under the contract.
Visual inspect and document procedures and techniques used in the daily functions of receiving, warehousing, stocking, custodial and document observations daily and turn in observations to the project manager.
Ensures all Acceptable Quality levels are being met as outlined in the contracts "Required Performance Metrics Tables"
Acts as a liaison between the contractor and the government QAE and establishes a business rapport with the QAE to ensure proper communication and adherence to the contract.
Prepare documentation of the inspection process, which includes detailed reports and performance records.
Assist Project Manager in preparing proper Production paperwork and any other paperwork as deemed as necessary.
Oversee the Date check program and ensure it is getting done nightly.
Ensure that all custodial personnel are trained in all aspects of chemical usage and that are trained to clean all areas within the commissary to include Meat cutting and prep areas.
Monitor, and / or maintain quality control standards.
Knowledge of custodial practices, machinery, and related equipment
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
Follows up on and reinspects unacceptable inspection results as annotated by the government QAE.
QUALITY CONTROL MONITOR REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Must pass a federal background check.
Have strong communication skills to include proficient written and verbal communications.
Have the ability to understand and explain and follow a written contract between the government and contractor and be able to explain the methodologies used in the contract.
Must possess strong organization skills to preform reviews and inspections.
Physical strength: Capable of standing for long periods of time and to lift 50 LBs.
Training skills: May need to train employees for some specific processes and procedures, must be capable to properly train employees on how to prevent flaws and work toward a smoother workflow.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
EDUCATION
Must possess a high school diploma or any equivalent education.
Real time experience in the same type working environment is preferred.
Have excellent documentation and presentation skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT Moderate physical activity. Must be able to lift approximately 50 pounds.
Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and or loud noises.
Must possess reliable transportation to and from workplace.
SCHEDULE OF WORK Must be able to work weekends and Holidays.
Must be able to work evening and night shifts to include graveyard shifts.
