Overview Creating Peace of Mind by Pioneering Safety and Security. Allegion helps keep people safe where they live, work and visit. This position sits within the global cybersecurity organization with primary responsibility in Allegion’s connected products and services. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with product development and mobile software teams to ensure high standards of quality, security, and data privacy across the full lifecycle of Allegion’s products and services. The Lead Security Mobile Engineer reports to the Director of Global Product Cybersecurity. Responsibilities Serve as product security point of contact for software and product development teams across the enterprise, addressing data privacy, devices, cloud, API, and application security. Partner with engineering teams to embed security and privacy into the software development lifecycle through architecture reviews, security requirements, secure coding practices, and automated security controls. Coach and mentor engineers on security tools, risk management, and balancing security with business needs and risks. Contribute to concepts, design, deployment, and lifecycle management related to Allegion’s global product engineering and software operations. Promote standard security architecture conventions to ensure availability, performance, scalability and security of mobile applications, mobile SDKs, and connected products. Participate in solution assessments across the solution lifecycle (concept, design, pre-deployment, post-deployment, end of life), including testing that may involve ethical hacking. Provide guidance to third-party-managed product installations through specification of requirements and validation of operations. Contribute to security operations including threat modeling, monitoring and incident response across mobile apps, APIs, cloud services, and connected devices. Stay current with latest security threats, attack vectors, mobile technologies, cloud technologies, embedded processing technologies, and related security controls. Participate in technology and security architecture reviews and act as a trusted advisor to global software and product development teams on architecture and control design. Help protect the company from business risks including financial loss, regulatory penalties, loss of intellectual property, and brand/reputation risk. Travel approximately 15% and operate in on-site, hybrid, or remote work environments. Qualifications 8+ years of mobile software development experience. At least 2–5 years as a demonstrated security practitioner leading a security strategy across multiple products. Excellent interpersonal skills to influence and partner with all levels on product development, software development and cloud deployment/operations including risk mitigations. High learning agility to quickly gain visibility across Allegion’s global software and product portfolio. Highly technical practitioner with working knowledge of delivering secure mobile applications, IoT products and services globally using modern technologies. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity or equivalent; related certifications preferred. Experience delivering results in diverse, global, fast-paced environments is preferred. Work Environment & Benefits Work location: Onsite, hybrid, or remote options. Travel: ~15% as needed. Compensation & Equal Opportunity Compensation range provided by Allegion: Base salary range is $131,400 - $177,500. Actual pay based on skills and experience. Bonus eligible.
