IT Project Manager (PM) Principal
The IT Project Manager (PM) Principal contractor in Gahanna, Ohio is accountable for the execution of complex Information Technology (IT) projects with high level of risk and complexity, and the execution of IT programs of high degree of complexity. The PM Principal employs their skills, talents, and knowledge of project management frameworks (e.g. Scrum, waterfall) to assure high quality products are delivered while optimizing the cost and delivery of value. Onsite role in Gahanna - Candidates must be local Responsibility: The PM Principal maintains complete transparency on the current state of the project or program, and maintains complete transparency on the forecast cost and delivery. The PM Principal enables stakeholders to make good business decisions based on project and program transparency. As necessary, the PM Principal provides a high degree of coaching to project team members on the art of project execution as it pertains to the project management framework being utilized, and can coach highly dysfunctional teams to a state of normal function. The PM Principal enables and promotes team level continuous improvement activities that increase quality and optimize delivery of value. Program Context Portfolio includes: Transmission Engineering applications and tools IDC (Integrated Design & Construction) maturity initiatives FAC-008 compliance and audit-driven work Environment: High-volume, multi-project delivery Cross-functional (Engineering, IT, Vendors) Capital and O&M funded work Own end-to-end project delivery (scope, schedule, budget) Manage vendor performance and SOW execution Drive structured intake and prioritization alignment Provide clear executive-level reporting and risk visibility Manage: Dependencies Financials (CapEx / OpEx) Risks (cause vs impact clearly defined) Environment: High-volume, multi-project delivery Cross-functional (Engineering, IT, Vendors) Capital and O&M funded work Key Expectations Own end-to-end project delivery (scope, schedule, budget) Manage vendor performance and SOW execution Drive structured intake and prioritization alignment Provide clear executive-level reporting and risk visibility Manage: Dependencies Financials (CapEx / OpEx) Risks (cause vs impact clearly defined) Essential Job Functions: Verify project scope and determine methods of managing and controlling for highly complex projects and programs. Plan, estimate, schedule and trend the project. Estimate, budget and control project cost. Develop, implement and manage quality assurance programs. Identify and manage project risk. Develop and manage procurement plans for highly complex projects and programs. Manage Programs. Directs team members on project management skills and techniques. Ensures team collaboration, as required, via coaching and development of team members. Serves as program manager of highly complex programs including the supervision of sub-team project managers. Designs structure of highly complex programs through sub-project formation Minimum Requirements: Education requirements are listed below:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, OR Associate's degree with 2 years of related technical/project management experience.OR High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of related business or technical/project management experience. Work Experience requirement listed below:Minimum 8 years (in addition to any educational experience in lieu of degree as identified above) IT and Business combined experience including work in one or more of these areas: project management, Agile Framework, major construction, or engineering. Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below:Certification aligned with project management discipline. Additional Requirements: 7-10+ years IT Project Management Strong vendor/SOW management + financial tracking Proven delivery of complex, cross-functional programs Experience with executive communication and governance forums Experience with multiple project types (e.g., in-house development, vendor, off-shore) is expected. Knowledge and experience using multiple project management frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Waterfall) is expected. Promotes continuous improvement within the project team. Financial + vendor mgmt experience Ownership of project financials and vendor management Experience leading large, cross-functional initiatives Clear example of risk identification and mitigation Communicates effectively with: Business stakeholders IT teams Leadership (Director-level and above) Ability to work within a structured intake/prioritization model Experience in high-volume, multi-project environments Self-directed; minimal oversight required Reference: 1058891 Worried that you don't meet every single requirement listed in the job ad?
