Engineering Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering/Technical Project Manager with hands-on programming experience to lead complex technical projects within our organization. The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing technology projects, with expertise in Project Management Professional (PMP) practices, Project Portfolio Management (PPM), and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). This role requires a proactive manager who can coordinate multiple project initiatives, ensure alignment with business objectives, and drive project delivery through effective leadership and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and finalize technical projects according to strict deadlines and within budget, including acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents, effectively communicating project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear manner.
  • Apply PMP methodologies and practices to manage projects through their lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure.
  • Utilize PPM tools and techniques to prioritize project portfolio based on business needs, resource availability, and risk assessment.
  • Manage PLM processes to oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of products from concept through design, manufacturing, service, and disposal.
  • Conduct project post-mortem assessments and create recommendations to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals, setting realistic timelines and budget forecasts.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel, identifying and resolving issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path, adjusting schedules and plans as needed.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of the project to all stakeholders, presenting reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions.
  • Implement project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs as necessary, managing change requests and scope adjustments.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks, establishing a risk mitigation plan and contingency plans.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) is required.
  • Proven experience in project management in the IT sector, with a focus on technical projects.
  • Strong familiarity with Project Portfolio Management (PPM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a proactive approach in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with project management tools and software.

Preferred Skills:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science
  • Additional certifications in Agile, Scrum, or related methodologies.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and multi-disciplinary projects.
