Appalachian Vascular and Interventional Radiology (AVIR) is seeking a motivated Interventional Radiologist to join our growing practice serving Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. AVIR is a clinic-based IR group providing comprehensive, minimally invasive care across the Appalachian Highlands. Our physicians practice primarily at Johnson City Medical Center, a 445-bed Level I Trauma Center and a Stroke Center of Excellence, while also supporting Niswonger Children s Hospital and additional Ballad facilities throughout the region. Our practice model is designed to allow physicians to focus on complex interventions, clinical care, and program growth. A team of five experienced Advanced Practice Providers manage inpatient consultations and performs a wide range of procedures, creating a highly efficient workflow allowing physicians to concentrate on advanced procedures and outpatient clinic care. Key highlights of the practice include: Clinic-based IR model with growing outpatient service lines Dedicated APP team supporting inpatient consults and procedures Practice across multiple hospitals within the Ballad Health system Opportunities to expand programs Collaborative relationship with hospital leadership committed supporting IR growth The Appalachian Highlands offers an exceptional quality of life with easy access to the Blue Ridge Mountains, outdoor recreation, vibrant arts communities, and excellent schools, all within driving distance of Asheville, Knoxville, and Bristol. This position is ideal for physicians interested in building a robust clinical IR practice while expanding access to minimally invasive care in a rural region that deeply values interventional radiology.
