Summary RNDC is looking for a talented and energetic sales specialist to join our control states division. The role is responsible for selling products and services to a wide range of highly complex or major accounts and customers, expanding the customer base and increasing sales/client ratios. Candidates must have a minimum of six or more years of experience and training and possess advanced knowledge of company policies, competitor products, and industry technology.
In this role, you will
Demonstrate expertise in promoting and selling specialized, fine wine, vintage, luxury, and supplier‑specific products, including marketing strategy, product demonstration, and sales control systems. Manage events such as Wine Marker Dinners, supplier market visits, and wine/spirit education.
Manage pre‑sells and vintage‑sensitive projects and programs; develop and present sales and product presentations to customers.
Train and/or educate the sales staff on wine knowledge; coach and mentor less‑experienced representatives to meet their sales targets and increase product knowledge. Conduct training sessions and monitor adherence to brand standards throughout the area of responsibility, ensuring approved training events at least twice annually.
Develop long‑term sales plans for key customers and monitor and adapt sales activities to meet objectives.
Work with the marketing team on pricing programs for non‑mainstream items to keep the product line competitive and meet supplier goals.
Solicit business by visiting customers, introducing prospective buyers to product features and benefits, and preparing price quotations, delivery dates, and service obligations.
Provide customer and personal services, including needs assessment, quality‑standard service, customer satisfaction evaluation, and complaint resolution in accordance with company policy.
Effectively influence full‑book resources for District Managers to amplify brands, provide execution guidelines, verify priority support, and communicate market‑level opportunities.
What you bring to RNDC
Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred (not required). Related sales experience in wine and/or spirits sales, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Six or more years of related sales experience, or equivalent education–experience combination.
Current state driver’s license and ability to meet company vehicle insurance requirements.
Required Alcohol Beverage Commission (ABC) license or permit, as required by state regulations.
Bonus if you bring
Previous experience in the wine and spirits industry.
Industry certifications such as CSW, CSS, WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers, or Sake Specialist.
