Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server and Oracle database environments.
Develop and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
Monitor database performance and resolve bottlenecks.
Apply security best practices, including cyber protocols, patching, and access controls.
Collaborate with system administrators, developers, and security teams.
Perform database migration, upgrades, and patching in a controlled and documented manner.
Support cloud-based database deployments; familiarity with OCI, Azure, and AWS is a strong plus.
Create and maintain database documentation, standards, and operating procedures.
Participate in on‑call rotation for critical database support.
Mentor and guide junior DBAs or technical staff.
Serve as a team lead on projects or tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
7+ years of related experience.
Proven expertise in database backup/recovery strategies and tools (RMAN, Data Pump, SQL Server backup/restore, etc.).
Strong knowledge of database security, auditing, encryption, and cyber protocols.
Hands‑on performance tuning, indexing strategies, query optimization, and storage configuration.
Solid understanding of high availability and disaster recovery solutions (AlwaysOn, Data Guard, clustering, replication).
Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar).
Experience working with OCI and Azure cloud database services.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, or Infrastructure as Code.
Experience with automation tools and monitoring platforms.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
