Position Overview
The Data Strategy team within Neuberger Private Markets provides centralized oversight of end-to-end investment and portfolio data, including acquisition, ingestion, quality control, and data accessibility. The team serves as the first line of defense for triaging, coordinating, and completing data requests across all Neuberger Private Markets divisions, encompassing Primary, Secondary, and Co‑investment strategies in Private Equity and Private Credit, as well as other product categories such as Funds of Hedge Funds and Consumer Brands. Responsibilities
Become a domain expert in portfolio company data gathering and analytical requests; provide end‑to‑end ownership of investment and portfolio company metrics, including monitoring deal closings, tracking key financial figures, and working closely with investment professionals on data gathering, compiling, quality control, analysis, and presentation for internal analysis and client reporting. Gather, aggregate, and produce analytics on portfolios, underlying investments, and client accounts; accurately summarize and present results to senior management. Contribute to the development of analytical models and reporting frameworks that enable stakeholders to answer recurring questions efficiently. Work with the Fundraising, Marketing, and Finance teams to provide portfolio analysis for investor reporting and RFPs for new investors. Leverage multiple data sources to calculate complex performance KPIs for client reporting, marketing, fundraising, and performance analysis; ensure that reporting outputs are timely, accurate, and aligned with business, technology, and regulatory requirements. Assist in maintaining data governance standards, including ownership, quality rules, lineage, and access controls, to ensure consistency, accuracy, and auditability of portfolio data across platforms. Assist with implementing new data source applications and identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and modern tools to streamline processes and enhance workflows. Complete recurring or ad hoc portfolio company data requests as needed. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. 2–5 years of hands‑on experience in a financial services or accounting setting, with exposure to private markets, alternative investments, or portfolio operations preferred. Familiarity with alternative investment strategies (Private Equity, Private Credit, Secondaries, Co‑investments, Venture Capital, etc.) and the GP/LP data landscape and private equity lifecycle. Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, VBA, financial modeling). SQL and database experience (MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Snowflake) strongly preferred. Python experience (Pandas, PySpark, Matplotlib/Seaborn) strongly preferred. Experience with data visualization and automation tools (Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik) a plus. Familiarity with portfolio monitoring platforms (Chronograph, iLevel, Burgiss, eFront, Cobalt) and market data providers (Bloomberg, CapIQ, Preqin) a plus. Understanding of ETL concepts and data pipeline workflows a plus. Exposure to fund accounting concepts and investor reporting cycles a plus. Awareness of regulatory and compliance considerations relevant to private markets reporting a plus. Detail‑oriented, highly organized with strong analytical and time‑management skills. Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments and prioritize effectively. Strong communication skills with the ability to present data clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Team player with a strong work ethic; ability to work independently with critical thinking. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Compensation
The salary range for this role is $110,000–$160,000. The role is also eligible for a discretionary bonus. Benefits include paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, retirement contributions, life insurance, and other benefits to eligible employees. EEO Statement
