Job Title Mobile HVAC Technician Location Rockford, IL and surrounding areas Summary Responsible for operational maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs on commercial/industrial buildings, industrial systems, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties and facilities. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities Inspect, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, test, and repair all types of facility systems including HVAC, electrical, lighting, fire, life, safety, boilers, refrigeration units, compressors, motors, pumps, and associated controls. Provide facility maintenance services such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, and snow removal to maintain building infrastructure and grounds. Attend and/or participate in safety training per C&W Services policy. Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, calibration, functional and operational testing of facility systems and equipment. Utilize the CMMS computer system to document tasks performed and maintain equipment histories, including parts replaced, hours worked, and response/ completion times. Complete and input data for all assigned work orders (both corrective and preventive maintenance) in a timely manner. Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean, safe, and orderly manner. Apply national and local codes for equipment repair and perform work in accordance with OSHA, state, and municipal requirements and C&W Services safety policies. Communicate repair status of devices and systems to supervisor/manager regularly. Collaborate with informal and formal teams, other employees, and customer representatives from various departments. Coordinate activities of other vendors and specialists when required. Perform daily building surveys to identify repair and preventive maintenance tasks. Report to supervisor/manager on a regular basis (daily/weekly) regarding general operations. Participate in training and professional development in advancing technology, safety, and general skill improvement. Be available for on‑call duty nights, weekends, and holidays to address emergencies; flexible hours may be required to accommodate client needs. Performance Goals Safety – Follow C&W Services safety policy and complete required training. Cost – Assist account leadership to meet financial targets. Quality – Meet SLA goals for work completion, callbacks, and customer service issues. Delivery – Follow work order and services delivery processes. Qualifications 2–5 years related experience or semi‑skilled level of general maintenance in a commercial facility setting. Good general working knowledge of all trades. Proven mechanical ability and aptitude. Good computer skills; operating knowledge of a Building Management System preferred. Proven ability to work cooperatively with others and demonstrate attention to detail. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to solve practical problems in variable situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret a variety of written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule instructions from a supervisor/manager. Willingness to increase knowledge and operation of specialized equipment through study of manufacturer manuals and installer instructions. Physical Demands Stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance, talk, hear, smell. Lift up to 75 pounds 1/3 of time at work. Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception. Work Environment Work near moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold and heat (non‑weather), risk of electrical shock, and occasional loud noise.
