Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Detail in Springfield, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. In this armed post, you will support daily operations through professionalism, teamwork, and integrity while using your experience to assist staff and visitors in a dynamic environment.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $22.38 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and sharing relevant information with site contacts and/or emergency personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, verify credentials when required, and assist with directing visitors and/or deliveries in accordance with site protocols.
  • Complete routine reports, maintain accurate activity logs, and communicate clearly with Allied Universal leadership and site representatives regarding security-related concerns and/or operational updates.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
