Job Description:POSITION: Part-Time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Instructor: Center for Corporate and Community Education; Lawrence Campus (414 Common Street); This is a contract, part-time position with variable hours based on enrollment, training schedules, and departmental needs. Weekly hours typically range from 6-18 hours and are assigned on an as-needed basis throughout the year. SUMMARY: The Part-Time CNA Instructor will be responsible for assisting with the practical and clinical components of the hybrid nursing assistant program alongside the Primary CNA Instructor. This position will report to the CNA Program Coordinator and serve as a valuable team member in collaborating, planning, and managing the unique needs of each monthly CNA cohort. The Part-Time CNA Instructor positions are an "Open Pool" for the upcoming 2026/27 Academic Year. There may or may not be available openings at this time however, when an opening does occur, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants we have on file on an as needed basis This pool is valid through June 30th, 2027, and will be accessed when an opening arises. SCHEDULE: This is a flexible, part-time position with hours that vary based on program enrollment, course scheduling, and operational needs. CNA programs are typically offered in 4-week cycles, and instructor schedules may fluctuate throughout the year. During active cohorts, instructors may work a higher number of weekly hours, while some periods may have limited or no scheduled hours depending on program demand. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead small groups in teaching specific nursing assistant skills Provide evaluation of both skills and clinical competencies Presence at clinicals is required which are currently being held in Newburyport, MA. Skills Labs are currently being held on NECC Lawrence Campus. Assist in both the skills lab and clinical settings, supporting students' learning in small groups. Requirements:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all required qualifications must be met by date of hire.
Current MA state RN or LPN licensure Minimum two (2) years' experience as a nurse with a minimum of one (1) year experience working in a long-term care facility CPR certification required Comfortable with teaching Nursing Assistant competencies in the laboratory and clinical setting. Technical knowledge and expertise in long-term care Excellent verbal and written communications PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
At least one (1) year of experience in lesson planning, lesson delivery, student evaluation and remediation in a health care setting as an in-service coordinator, staff educator, or other health personnel instructor; or the equivalent of 24 contact hours in programs that meet continuing education standards Adult Education experience Flexibility to work daytime, evening, and weekend shifts Bilingual (Spanish/English) Experience working with and supporting a culturally diverse population EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: Applicants who do not meet the qualifications as noted above are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their background and experience has prepared them with the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required for the responsibilities of this position. Additional Information:SALARY: $64.00/hour, non-benefited position ANTICIPATED START DATE: This posting will be reviewed each month as projected scheduling needs arise.
