THE TEAM The mission of the Global Architecture Department is to set global architecture strategies and standards to enable secure, scalable, and innovative technology solutions that accelerate our business goals. THE OPPORTUNITY As a member of the Global Architecture Department, you will be part of the team responsible for driving architectural excellence, ensuring Aritzia’s technology solutions across the enterprise are secure and well‑positioned for future growth. As the Senior Principal / Principal Enterprise Architect supporting our Digital Commerce & Performance Marketing areas, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how we leverage technology to deliver world‑class, seamless, and personalized client experiences. You will drive the multi‑year architecture strategy and technology roadmap that powers our digital commerce ecosystems, including our mobile app, client engagement platforms, and omnichannel fulfilment. Your architecture vision will modernise legacy platforms, accelerate our transition to microservices and composable commerce, and ensure alignment with Aritzia’s business strategy and measurable outcomes. THE ROLE Develop and maintain the architecture vision, strategy, and roadmap for Aritzia’s digital commerce, mobile apps, content, search, client data, POS, and omnichannel capabilities, upgrading legacy systems into cloud‑native, microservices‑based, and headless ecosystems. Partner strategically with business and technology leaders to shape initiatives that modernise and transform our digital and retail capabilities. Evangelise emerging technologies and industry trends, influencing Aritzia’s roadmap to maintain a competitive edge through cutting‑edge solutions. Embed AI and ML capabilities into the technology ecosystem, driving automation, predictive insights, and intelligent decision‑making. Translate corporate strategy into actionable technology direction and ensure architecture investments deliver tangible business value. Influence and guide solution architects and engineering teams, ensuring design consistency, scalability, and alignment with global principles. Drive modernisation across retail and digital, ensuring flexibility and future‑readiness. Collaborate closely with peers across the Technology Division to ensure end‑to‑end integration across retail and digital commerce capabilities. Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration through engineering communities of practice and lead the creation and adoption of engineering best practices. THE QUALIFICATIONS 20+ years of experience architecting and delivering technology solutions in retail and digital domains. Proven leadership in cloud migrations, data integrations, DevOps, backend engineering, and off‑the‑shelf package implementations. Strong technology and engineering background, including experience with commerce and digital experience architectures, modernising legacy eCommerce into cloud‑native and headless platforms, composable commerce (Salesforce, Commerce Cloud, Commerce tools or similar). Experience with AWS or GCP, microservices, Spring Boot, serverless, containers (Docker/EKS), GraphQL, React, CI/CD, and IaC (Terraform). Proficiency in enterprise data and integration patterns. Experience with retail systems, POS integration, omnichannel flows, and high‑volume commerce performance patterns. Implementation of a Customer Data Platform (CDP). Deploying technology to support loyalty and membership programmes. Hands‑on experience with implementing modern search platforms and AI/ML‑powered search and personalisation. Implementation of call‑centre client interaction automation leveraging Agentic AI‑based platforms. Integrating a Digital Asset Management (DAM) system and modernising content, catalogue, and search platforms. Experience managing large budgets and leading cross‑functional teams in complex, global environments. Experience in vendor relationship management, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement. Appreciation for Aritzia’s obsession with design, quality, and excellence, and ability to translate that into technology standards and solutions that scale.
