We are seeking a skilled and customer‑focused
Network Engineer
with a primary focus on wireless technologies. The role will support our customers globally and be responsible for the implementation, security, operation and support of WLAN, LAN and WAN solutions.
One of the initial projects that this person will support is a wireless project that includes the implementation of structured cabling, AP installation and providing support for L3 network engineers who will configure the APs. The role will involve travel within the US and Canada to undertake surveys and complete quality checks on installations, and it will also require directing and guiding 3rd‑party cabling contractors who complete work on our behalf.
Key Responsibilities
Manage multiple simultaneous network refresh projects consisting of the installation, configuration, maintenance and upgrading of various network components (access points, switches, firewalls, etc.)
Design, test and implement new wireless deployments using a variety of industry tools such as Ekahau AI Pro, AirMagnet, Wireshark, etc.
Collaborate and communicate with management, internal project teams and external implementation partners regarding project progress, system design, risk management & issue resolution
Assist internal and external customers with troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues, providing root cause analysis and resolving problem tickets promptly
Experience and Skills We Are Looking For
Comprehensive understanding of the OSI model and networking architecture such as routing/switching, IP, TCP/UDP and application layers
Relevant industry certification such as Cisco CWNA, CCNA, CompTIA Network+, etc.
Thorough understanding of wireless networking technologies and protocols
Professional level experience with wireless analysis tools such as Ekahau AI Pro, AirMagnet, Wireshark, etc.; relevant certifications an advantage
Demonstrated ability to analyze and troubleshoot problems, recommend solutions and take independent action
Articulate communicator, customer and project delivery focused
Flexibility to travel (20%+) and to work non‑standard hours from time to time
Motivated and assertive, comfortable working with and directing others in a demanding project environment
Strong wireless skills and experience are critical for this role; general networking skills, with unified communications skills an advantage
