Facilities and Energy Services Data Analyst Agency: Texas A&M University – Department of Facilities. Location: College Station, Texas. Job Type: Staff. Overview Facilities Management in the Division of Operations coordinates maintenance, custodial, grounds, and utilities & energy services of the campus built environment to support the teaching and research mission of the university. Responsibilities Conduct data queries and perform thorough analysis. Mine data and generate data visualizations for Building Access and all contract management within Facilities & Energy Services’ purview. Use university vehicles to visit site locations for in‑field verification of data analysis results. Retrieve reporting data in a systematic formal cadence and prepare standardized reports for management. Develop and provide analysis and feedback through regular reporting standards. Perform ad‑hoc reporting analysis as needed. Coordinate project resources with relevant holders and other project coordinators/managers; provide support to related projects. Engage in ongoing professional development by attending meetings, seminars, training sessions, and conferences. Effectively present data analytical feedback to management and collaborate with team members and campus constituents. Contribute to a safe work environment by reporting accidents, unsafe conditions, and following safety procedures and training. Maintain security and integrity of critical infrastructure (communications, computer/network, cybersecurity, electrical grid, hazardous waste, water treatment). Work outside standard office hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support essential technology services. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 2 years of experience in data analysis. Ability to multi‑task and work cooperatively with others. Ability to work independently and operate in a deadline‑oriented environment. Aptitude and willingness to learn new data analysis tools and methodology. Proficiency in gathering information requirements, retrieving accurate data, and presenting it in an understandable form (MS Excel, Tableau, PowerBI, PowerPoint, or other visualization/presentation tools). Aware of basic statistical analysis tools and tests (regression, probability, forecasting). Ability to serve customers by working with users possessing various levels of technical and functional knowledge. Ability to foster a collaborative team environment. Preferred Qualifications Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience using Microsoft Excel and visualization tools in a business or higher‑education environment. Understanding of the role of data analysis in making strategic business decisions. Proficient background in utilizing spreadsheet or visualization software within the private sector and higher education contexts. Proficiency in recognizing the significance of accurate data analysis and data mining for strategic contract management and informed business process decisions.
