Client is seeking an experienced
Database Administrator (DBA)
to provide technical expertise in the planning, design, development, implementation, administration, optimization, and support of enterprise database environments supporting critical City applications and business operations.
The selected consultant will be responsible for database architecture, installation, configuration, performance tuning, capacity planning, backup and recovery, security administration, database upgrades, and integration activities. The Database Administrator will work closely with application developers, systems administrators, project teams, and business stakeholders to ensure database systems remain secure, reliable, scalable, and high performing.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience supporting enterprise database platforms, strong database design and optimization skills, and expertise in database administration, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery planning.
The City's environment may include enterprise database technologies such as
Oracle, ADABAS, SQL Server, DB2, PostgreSQL , and other database platforms supporting both modern and legacy applications.
Experience • 5+ years of Database Administration experience. • Experience administering enterprise database platforms. • Experience with database installation, configuration, and maintenance. • Experience supporting Oracle databases. • Experience supporting ADABAS databases preferred. • Experience performing database performance tuning and optimization. • Experience implementing backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions. • Experience supporting database upgrades, migrations, and patching activities. • Experience with database security administration and access controls. • Experience supporting high-availability and mission-critical environments. • Experience troubleshooting complex database performance and operational issues. • Experience supporting application integrations and database interfaces.

Preferred Qualifications • Government or Public Sector experience. • Experience supporting Oracle Database environments. • Experience supporting ADABAS database systems. • Experience supporting SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or DB2. • Experience with database replication technologies. • Experience with cloud-hosted database environments. • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise applications. • Experience with data warehouse environments. • Experience with database automation and monitoring tools.
