Food Safety Quality Assurance Technician

We are seeking a full-time, Food Safety Quality Assurance Technician to join our team in Peoria, IL whose main responsibilities will include: Monitoring procedures including pre-operational sanitation, product temperatures. Zero tolerance checks. Metal detector checks, and label verifications. Overseeing tools, utensils and other potentially dangerous equipment that are distributed daily. Monitoring mixing for products/ingredients for tampering, foreign objects, and accuracy. Managing non-compliance and assess root causes and provide suggested corrective actions. Ensuring all Food Safety, SQF, and Safety policies are followed. Making sure all employees are wearing proper PPE specific to their job areas and maintaining a clean work environment. Actively surveying Food Security and Defense procedures inside the facility and its operations. Note: this job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Minimum Qualifications (Required): Must be 18 years of age or older Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship. Background in Quality Assurance/Food Safety, preferably within the protein industry. Must be able to utilize universal computer software. Preferred Qualifications: HACCP Certifications advantageous. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to lead and manage a team of technicians and perform duties with minimal direction.
