From installation and troubleshooting to system commissioning, our technicians and engineers are the backbone of that work. As our Atlanta operation continues to grow, we are expanding our field team and looking for skilled Controls Field Technicians who enjoy solving problems, working hands-on with automation systems, and supporting complex projects in the field.
Role Overview: The Controls Field Technician supports the installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of industrial control systems across customer sites and CLX project locations. This is a leveled role (Controls Field Technician I - III). Your experience, technical skillset, and interview performance will determine the level at which an offer may be extended.
Candidates may be considered for:
Controls Field Technician I - Technicians building foundational experience in controls systems and electrical troubleshooting.
Controls Field Technician II - Experienced technicians capable of independently troubleshooting systems and supporting project execution.
Controls Field Technician III - Senior technicians who lead field troubleshooting, support PLC programming, and help guide junior technicians during project work. This role is ideal for technicians with backgrounds in:
Industrial electrical workControls systems installationAutomation troubleshootingAirport or large facility maintenance environments
What You'll Do:
Read and interpret electrical schematics and control system documentationTroubleshoot electrical and control system issues in field environmentsSupport installation and startup of automation and controls equipmentPerform diagnostics and system testing on control componentsAssist with PLC troubleshooting and basic programming adjustmentsBuild or modify control panels based on electrical prints when requiredIdentify system issues and implement corrective solutionsWork closely with Integration Engineers and project teams to complete system integrationsCommunicate clearly with customers and internal teams when resolving issuesMaintain safety standards including PPE and site safety proceduresUtilize electrical testing tools including multimeters and diagnostic equipment
Work Environment: Controls Field Technicians may work in environments such as:
Major airport facilitiesIndustrial manufacturing environmentsLarge entertainment or commercial facilitiesCLX Engineering project sites
Many projects involve active operational environments where troubleshooting must be performed efficiently to keep systems running.

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or Associate degree with equivalent applied experience2+ years of electrical, automation, or controls experience for higher technician levelsExperience with PLC software such as Studio 5000 / Logix 5000 or similar platforms (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi)Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematicsExperience troubleshooting electrical or control system componentsExcellent communication skills and ability to remain calm in high-pressure situationsValid driver's license with a clean driving recordAbility to travel locally and occasionally out of stateAbility to work non-standard hours when requiredAbility to obtain a passportAbility to pass background screening and drug testing
