Role: Locum Tenens Cardiovascular Surgeon / Cardiac Surgeon / Cardiothoracic Surgeon
Setting: Hospital rounding and surgery (Cardiovascular Surgery Unit)
Start Date: July 3, 2026
End Date: October 2, 2026
Duration: 13 weeks
Estimated Weekly Pay: $6,110 - $7,240
Schedule: 24-hour call shifts (Fri, July 3 at 5pm to Mon, July 6 at 7am)
EMR: EPIC
Job Requirements / Qualifications Fellowship training in cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgery (required)
Board certified in Cardiovascular Surgery (Cardiac/Cardiothoracic) (required)
Active South Carolina medical license (required) - Greenville, SC locum requirement
Active ACLS certification (required)
Clean background and ability to provide a self-query NPDB report (required)
Minimum 1 year of post-fellowship clinical experience as a practicing cardiovascular/cardiac surgeon
Proficiency with EPIC EMR documentation preferred
Responsibilities Provide hospital-based cardiovascular surgical care including pre-op and post-op rounding and intraoperative responsibilities
Perform cardiovascular procedures such as aneurysm repair, coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), and heart valve repair/replacement
Provide 24-hour call coverage during scheduled shifts and respond to emergent cardiac surgical needs
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (cardiology, anesthesia, ICU, OR staff) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Document all patient care accurately and promptly in the EPIC EMR system
Participate in handoffs, perioperative planning, and quality improvement initiatives as needed
