Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Buyer is a senior-level procurement role responsible for managing purchasing activities across the manufacturing operation. This role requires a highly organized and proactive professional who can operate independently and contribute to the development of a more efficient, technology-enabled supply chain. Experience using advanced supply chain systems and/or a demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly. The Manufacturing Buyer will be expected to identify and implement improvements to existing procurement processes, leverage data to support strategic decisions, and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead the procurement of materials, parts, and tools required for manufacturing operations Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability Evaluate and select suppliers based on performance, pricing, and delivery capabilities Utilize supply chain software and tools to streamline and optimize purchasing processes Identify and implement process improvements that drive efficiency and cost savings Analyze demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory levels to plan purchases Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or invoicing Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and finance teams to support operational goals Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all purchasing activities

Qualifications:

Work Experience: 5+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Proven track record of managing supplier relationships and complex purchasing activities Experience with supply chain management software, ERP systems, and procurement tools Ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies to improve operational efficiency Prior experience purchasing tools is a plus Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, Operations, or related field preferred Equivalent experience in a manufacturing procurement role will also be considered

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used as necessary.

Compensation:

$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
