Position: Barista & Market Clerk – La Spesa Gourmet Counter

As a Barista & Market Clerk, you are the ambassador of this unique concept and help create a memorable customer experience with every interaction.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

40% Customer service & sales · 35% Product preparation & handling · 25% Operations & coordination

  • Advise and sell products from all sections of the Gourmet Counter
  • Conduct tastings, product presentations and offer gift wrapping services
  • Prepare and serve specialty coffees and beverages using a Barista coffee machine
  • Assist with the finishing preparation of sandwiches, pizzas and other food items
  • Handle fresh food products in compliance with hygiene and food safety standards
  • Process transactions, manage the cash register, take inventory and restock shelves
  • Assist the Gourmet Counter Manager in coordinating, setting up and servicing groups and events
  • Act as brand ambassador for all sections and as a complete reference for La Spesa
  • Perform any other related tasks required for the smooth operation of the counter

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Qualities: Team spirit, Organizational skills, Passion for fine products, Communication skills, Energy, Friendly attitude, Autonomy, Customer service focus

Experience & education: Experience in customer service or retail an asset, interest in local and artisanal products and the food industry, French-English bilingualism an asset.
