Essential FunctionsPerforms functions under supervision of a Registered Respiratory Therapist 1. Performs blood gas analysis. Effectively recognizes equipment functionality status and appropriately troubleshoots equipment. Performs blood gas quality control procedures and documents results appropriately. Delivers medical gas tanks to hospital units. Switches and changes tank banks in tank room, as well as large cylinders in other areas of hospital as needed. Inventories disposable equipment in Respiratory Therapy Department and ICU storeroom and replaces as needed. Disassembles, cleans and reassembles Respiratory Therapy equipment. Exchange disposable set ups as needed. O2 tanks and regulators (transporting, storage, changing regulators. Home O2 tank delivery Inventory of Respiratory Therapy Equipment Prep ventilators for use Restock respiratory stock rooms/areas Handwashing Audits Charges for Oxygen ? validate with finance/regulatory
