Data Engineering Role
Strong development skills, with in-depth knowledge of data engineering, data modeling, data visualization, and reporting software. Responsible for finding trends in data sets and developing algorithms to help make raw data more useful to the enterprise. This IT role requires a significant set of technical skills, including a deep knowledge of SQL database design and multiple programming languages. Understand how to optimize data retrieval and develop dashboards, reports, and other visualizations for customers and stakeholders. Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to gather relevant data and information, actively listen, dialogue freely, and verbalize ideas effectively. Ability to convert manual reporting from disparate data sources into automated real time metrics with full dimensionality. Ability to work in an Agile environment to deliver incremental value to customers by managing and prioritizing tasks. Apply quantitative data analysis techniques and methods. Proactively lead investigation and resolution efforts when data issues are identified taking ownership to resolve them in a timely manner. Ability to interoperate and document processes and procedures for producing metrics. Must have 5+ years of hands-on experience with data management in gathering data from multiple sources and consolidating them into a single centralized location. Transforming the data with business logic in a consumable manner for visualization and data analysis. 5+ years of hands-on experience with data management and visualization tools (e.g., Postgres, SSMS, RapidMiner, Grafana, Tableau, SAP Business Objects, Alteryx, PowerBI etc.). 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity risk management, or equivalent certifications. An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Management, or related field. Hands-on experience with SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services, and SQL Server Integration Services (No-SQL experience). Lead multiple initiatives simultaneously and prioritize time with minimal supervision. Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Expertise in schema design, developing data models with a proven ability to work with complex data transformations from a wide variety of databases, platforms, and APIs. Proven track-record of solving complex data processing and storage challenges through scalable, fault-tolerant architecture. Experience in software support and maintenance, providing configuration support for applications and database structure. Nice to have 1+ year of designing, building, and supporting data processing pipelines to transform Big Data in Cloud Platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure). Expertise with infrastructure management in the public cloud by leveraging Terraform to deploy and manage resources. Knowledge of best practices for building Data Lake and analytical architecture in the cloud. Hands-on experience scripting / programming with UNIX, Java, Python, Scala, etc. One or more of the following certifications preferred: CompTIA Sec+, CISM, CISSP, CRISC and/or CISA. Understanding of security control frameworks such as NIST, CIS controls, COBIT, ISO etc.
