We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join a hospital-based care team in Portage, IN. The RRT will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory care for patients with breathing disorders. Responsibilities include administering physician-prescribed respiratory treatments, operating and monitoring ventilatory equipment, performing airway management and suctioning, delivering chest physiotherapy, conducting oximetry and capnography monitoring, performing arterial punctures and pulmonary function studies, and assisting with procedures such as bronchoscopy, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care. The RRT documents treatments and responses, communicates with providers regarding therapy effectiveness, and participates in shift handoffs and equipment maintenance. Minimum Qualifications Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program. Current Respiratory Care license in good standing with the State of Indiana. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential. Minimum one year of clinical experience as an RRT in an acute care or hospital setting. BLS certification required. Experience operating and managing mechanical ventilators, non-invasive ventilation, and invasive ventilation modalities. Experience with airway management including endotracheal intubation and tracheostomy care. Experience performing arterial blood gas sampling, oximetry, and capnography. Ability to perform pulmonary function testing and 12-lead ECG acquisition.
Preferred Qualifications ACLS certification preferred. Experience assisting with bronchoscopy, chest tube management, and care of PleurX or similar devices preferred. Experience in moderate complexity laboratory procedures related to respiratory testing preferred.
Assignment Details Shift pattern: 3x12.

You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize ventilator management, emergency airway interventions, and procedural support, contributing to improved outcomes across the hospital. Indiana Dunes National Park and Indiana Dunes State Park are approximately 10-20 minutes away by car, providing shoreline, hiking trails, and birdwatching.
