The role holder delivers defined revenue, product volume and quality targets through the acquisition, up-sell and retention of UK SME customers. Sales opportunities are initiated by either an outbound dialler call, inbound call from a customer or outbound call as part of a specific campaign and in accordance with business requirements. The role holder will answer and respond to customer enquiries efficiently, effectively, and appropriately in accordance with defined processes and procedures.
- Work with a defined account base of small SME customers, who typically have single sites and relatively simple order needs.
- Ensure an understanding of BT’s products and services to be able to effectively retain, acquire and upsell customers and ensure that the customer’s needs are being appropriately met.
- To drive outbound calls to retain & grow existing customers & also acquire new customers in 10-100 customer segment.
- Typically sell BT & EE’s standard products – across mobile, connectivity, and IP voice. May sell products across multiple towers to the same customer if required to meet their needs.
- Develop successful, sustainable, and profitable relationships within the defined account base. Use strong communication and influencing skills to build relationships with key customer contacts and decision makers.
- Following BT sales methodology and procedures to retain, develop and grow business such as; effective questioning to landscape accounts.
- Thrive in a target driven, customer facing environment in order to achieve targets and KPIs. Targets may include; customer contact activity, product sales volumes, pipeline health and SOV/ revenue growth.
- Keep sales tools and systems up to date and well organized with accurate customer information, to support effective decision making and to comply with GDPR.
- Identify both new business opportunities and growth opportunities within the account base.
- Influence decision makers to make timely decisions that help us achieve the business outcomes.
Essential
- Confident and effective communicator – able to listen, influence, guide and convey messages articulately both written and verbally.
- Comfortable using IT systems, databases and software packages – previous experience with data bases, data savvy, emails and UC such as Teams.
- Customer service skills - awareness of how to approach and deal with customers wants and needs, setting expectations and providing solutions.
- Adaptable and willing to learn - able to take guidance, constructive feedback and follow processes taught during training, flexible to try new methods when guided to do so
- Experience in a sales environment.
Desirable
- Track record of achieving / exceeding targets – motivated and driven by targets, able to focus on outcomes and organise workload to maximise these.
- Sales experience is advantageous – although not essential, being willing to learn, driven and ambitious goes a long way.
