Locum Tenens Opportunity: Pediatric Hospitalist Near Merit, TX

We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Hospitalist for a locum tenens position near Merit, TX. Key Responsibilities:

  • Inpatient Care :

    • Provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients in an inpatient setting.
    • Manage and oversee pediatric patients in a 3-bed pediatric unit and a 14-bed nursery.

  • Call Coverage :

    • 24-hour call shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m., ensuring continuous care for pediatric patients.
    • Be available for admissions and other inpatient needs during on-call hours.
    • Participate in both patient rounding and emergency care as needed.
Practice Details:

  • Certification and Licensure :

    • Board Certification : Required for the Pediatric Hospitalist role.
    • Licensure : Must be licensed in Texas or eligible for licensure through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC).
    • Certifications : BLS and PALS certifications are required; ABLS, ACLS, and ATLS are not necessary.
    • Credentialing Timeframe : Estimated at 30 days.

  • Facility Support :

    • The hospital is experiencing a shortage of pediatricians and currently has only two part-time physicians. This creates a significant need for reliable locum tenens coverage.
    • The facility is stroke-certified, ensuring a high standard of care for patients.
