Position Summary

The Edibles Kitchen Manager is responsible for the kitchen staff and cooking procedures to successfully create consistent, safe, quality edibles using cannabis. This position will conduct regular audits on inventory and maintain compliance with all state inspections and guidelines.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Coordinate production.
  • Order production supplies and kitchen equipment as needed.
  • Train and enforce kitchen staff members on operation standards.
  • Maintain accurate production reports.
  • Assist with the design of company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as it relates to the Kitchen and edibles packaging process.
  • Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the facility.
  • Follow recipes and formulas for marijuana infused products.
  • Monitor and train Leads on accountability and accuracy.
  • Follow accurate record keeping and data collection.
  • Complete necessary interview and hiring procedures for staff.
  • Oversee daily tasks and ensure they are completed in the allotted time from the task schedule.
  • Manage employee performance to ensure competency, knowledge, growth, and contribution of direct reports.
  • Maintain compliance with and abreast of all MIOSHA and MDARD regulations.
  • Create and maintain all product specification documents, recipes, formulas, and food safety plans.
  • Ensure daily management of production area and team including production scheduling, execution, staffing, and capacity planning.
  • All other tasks assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Age Requirement: Must be 21 years or older (State Requirement).
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Ability to work in a highly regulated environment with strict compliance standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Conflict management skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience producing candies, edibles, chocolates, cookies, etc. (5+ years preferred)
  • Experience with production planning.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work in a highly regulated environment.

Work Environment

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks
  • Able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
