The Role
As an Internal Sales Executive, you'll be responsible for managing enquiries, generating quotations and proactively developing business with both new and existing customers. Working closely with the wider sales, procurement, marketing and operations teams, you'll ensure customers receive competitive solutions and outstanding service from the initial enquiry through to handover for operational delivery.
This is a highly proactive role where you'll identify opportunities, analyse customer booking trends and help maximise revenue across a range of freight services.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to sales enquiries from new and existing customers via phone, email and web enquiries. Produce accurate and competitive freight quotations across multiple transport modes. Proactively follow up quotations, negotiate where appropriate and convert opportunities into confirmed business. Monitor customer booking activity, identify gaps and re-engage customers to maximise business opportunities. Identify opportunities to introduce additional services and trade lanes. Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular communication. Accurately maintain customer records, quotations and sales activity within the CRM system. Support operational teams by providing pricing and rate assistance where required. Work closely with internal departments to deliver an exceptional customer experience. Ensure all activities are completed in line with industry regulations and company procedures.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
Experience within freight forwarding or logistics. Previous internal sales or commercial experience would be advantageous, although not essential for candidates with strong operational freight forwarding experience. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. A proactive, enthusiastic and positive approach to sales. Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. Good time management and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks. The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
