The Role
This is the closest seat to the CEO at Stake. You will see every part of the business -- sales, product, consumer, investor relations, partnerships, people operations, and external affairs -- and your job is to make sure none of it stalls because it lacks an owner.
This is not a role for someone who needs a clean brief before starting. It is a role for someone who reads a situation, figures out what needs to happen, and makes it happen. In 18 to 24 months, the right person will be ready to run a function at Stake or take a founding role elsewhere. We will invest in getting you there.
What You Will Own
The CEO's outbound pipeline.
Sales emails, investor updates, and partner outreach run under the CEO's name but should not require his time to produce. You draft in his voice, manage the cadence, and make sure nothing slips.
Cross-functional coordination.
Launches, re-platforming projects, and product decisions fail when handoffs don't have an owner. You run the readiness checklist, keep product development and engineering, sales, customer success, consumer and external teams aligned, and bring decisions to the CEO with a recommendation rather than a thread.
Consumer product team support.
Our CRM team is new and still finding its operating rhythm. You manage the feedback loop, enforce follow-through on workshops and decisions, and prevent the CEO from becoming the default escalation path.
Communications and external affairs.
LinkedIn, press releases, podcast inquiries, PR back-and-forth, and partner decks all need a first pass before they reach the CEO. You are that pass, and you hold the rest of the team to the same standard.
Workflow Automation.
Work with your team members to introduce automated systems throughout the business to improve efficiency and operations.
Who You Are
You have 2+ years of experience in a fast-moving environment. You write clearly and edit ruthlessly. You are more comfortable finishing things then talking about them. You hold yourself and others accountable without making it political. You are genuinely motivated by the mission -- the idea that 44 million American renters deserve the same financial footing as homeowners is not just a talking point to you, it's the reason you show up.
You do not need complete information to begin, and you do not need praise to keep going.
Path Forward This role is explicitly designed as an 18-24 month tour of duty. Based on what Stake needs and what you want, the natural exits are Chief of Staff, a functional leadership role within Stake, or a founding or operator role at another company. We will be direct with you about your trajectory from day one.
Benefits
$65,000 to $80,000 base salary.
Equity participation in Employer’s Stock Option Plan. This is a pre-Series B company with real upside for people who get in early and perform.

Requirements
2+ years experience in a fast-moving environment.
Ability to travel up to once per month.
Located in New York or Dallas.
Proficiency with (Google Workspace, Slack, Excel, PowerPoint and/or Google Slides)
Productive in a remote working environment.
