Responsibilities
Under the direction of our Director of Research, you will be responsible for the research, synthesis, analysis, and presentation of information to answer time-sensitive clinical questions, reach broad audiences with creative and engaging editorials, prepare podcast interviews with world experts in science and health, and give critical thoughts and opinions on longevity literature.
You will digest large amounts of research literature and use the information to determine the validity of, and expand upon, existing hypotheses, as well as to formulate new ones.
You will generate original documents, charts, figures, and tables to communicate relevant findings variously to clinicians, patients, and digital audiences under the guidance of the Director of Research.
You must be proactive about acquiring information from PubMed, Google Scholar, and research journals, as well as from communication with experts both within and outside of the organization.
Though much of your work will be independent, you will also function as part of a team through peer-editing as well as collaborative storyboarding and brainstorming for podcasts and other creative content.
In addition to the short-term output that forms most day-to-day efforts, you will have the opportunity to pursue long-term passion projects to guide the organization’s collective perspective on broad areas of interest.
Requirements
Advanced degree in a relevant field (PhD preferred)
Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field (engineering included)
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Proficient with PubMed and Google Scholar
Preferably at least 2-5 years of experience in a research or medical setting where you were taught how to critically read scientific papers and understand scientific methods.
Open-minded and eager to receive and provide feedback for continuous growth
Adaptable and resilient in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Passionate about Medicine 3.0 and Dr. Peter Attia’s work
With your resume & (optional) cover letter, you will also attach a writing sample
This role involves substantial writing and requires a superior ability to organize information and concepts into a coherent narrative. Therefore, we require that each application include a writing sample to help us understand your style and how you synthesize and express ideas. Late-stage candidates will also be asked to perform one or more writing assessments during the interview process.
Tip: Please be thoughtful in the sample you upload. It can be a dissertation, newsletter, blog post, commentary on a particular topic or study, etc., but should primarily be your own ideas and writing. Peer-reviewed publications tell us comparatively little about your work on an individual level, so we request that you refrain from using them as your sample. While samples related to biomedical science are often the best way to showcase your skill for this position, we are primarily interested in your ability to communicate a logical progression of ideas, so we also accept essays or other nonfiction writing related to non-science topics.
