Job Description Summary The Project Quality Engineer will be responsible for executing supply chain project quality activities for GVH Advanced Nuclear projects.
Job Description Essential Responsibilities:
Assessing potential suppliers based on quality capabilities, production capacity, and compliance with company standards to qualify new vendors.
Participating in on-site audits at supplier facilities to verify quality control processes, documentation, and compliance with regulations.
Collaborating with suppliers to identify and implement process improvements to enhance quality and reduce defects.
Maintain detailed records of supplier quality performance, including non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans.
Working proactively with purchasing teams, engineering departments, and other stakeholders to manage supplier quality concerns.
Perform project execution activities for Advanced Nuclear projects focusing on quality control of the procurement activities.
Work proactively with suppliers to define specific quality requirements, including development of inspection, verification, and qualification processes, in addition to tests and processes to assure products and services meet the GVH and customer quality requirements.
Provide technical guidance to suppliers toward assuring product/process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
Work proactively with suppliers to resolve quality concerns applying technical and quality expertise to deliver project quality requirements.
Execute supplier quality surveillance program for supplier activities.
Disposition of supplier non‑conforming products.
Write and review technical quality documents, plans and procedures.
Support future error prevention through the use of the corrective action processes.
Must be willing to travel to supplier and customer sites as required (up to 50%).
Qualifications/Requirements
Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years experience.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, manufacturing engineering support or working in a nuclear quality assurance related capacity.
Proficient in English both verbal and written.
Strong understanding of quality control principles and methodologies.
Experience with manufacturing processes and quality assurance systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers.
Proficient in data analysis and reporting to track supplier performance.
Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
Desired Characteristics
Bachelor’s Degree in science or engineering from an accredited college or university.
Knowledge of Nuclear customers, industry programs and competitive environments.
Exhibit a strong Nuclear Safety Culture.
Experience in Non‑destructive examination (NDE) processes (X‑Ray, Ultrasonic, Liquid Penetrant, etc.).
Experience with ASME Code (Section IX Welding and Brazing qualifications and Section XI In‑service inspections).
Experience solving welding related issues.
Experience with Electrical/Electronics Industry Standards (IEEE, IEC, IPC, NEMA, ANSI).
Experience with analog and digital control systems including microprocessor, electronic, and pneumatic instrumentation and controls.
Experience in conducting quality inspections of equipment, components, or systems to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
A good understanding of the safety lifecycle for Instrument & Controls safety systems.
Experience with high integrity software‑based protection and/or safety control systems.
Knowledge of PLC programming and system integration, SCADA configuration and software testing techniques.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a customer focused team environment.
Ability and willingness to travel to GEH supplier facilities/sites.
Demonstrated self‑starter possessing strong initiative and teamwork skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills; proven ability to develop team relationships.
Experience interacting with senior leadership at supplier and/or regulatory organizations.
Demonstrated desire to be involved in a rapidly changing and challenging work environment.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of 10CFR50 Appendix B, ASME, NQA-1, CSA N299, CSA N285, and ISO‑9001 standards.
Previous or Current Quality Lead Auditor certification.
2 years of experience in Nuclear quality role.
Base pay range:
$102,900.00 – $171,500.00 USD Annual.
Eligible for a 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.
