This operation runs 24/7, and individual schedules are determined by volume and client needs. Weekend availability is required and the facility is only closed three days each year. Job Purpose
Manage the day-to-day operations of a distribution center in alignment with financial and operational goals, and oversee the proper administration of operational plans for the site. Key Responsibilities
Plan warehouse layout and storage areas considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored. Manage financial reporting of the warehouse. Design, create, and implement production planning for the warehouse. Advise employees on care and preservation of items, and methods for handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock. Review records and recommend corrective actions for non-usable, slow-moving, or excess stock. Verify records for accuracy and compliance, and assess stock levels. Schedule special and periodic inventories. Investigate discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommend solutions. Determine work procedures, prepare schedules, and expedite workflow. Issue instructions and assign duties, ensuring work meets policies and procedures. Standardize procedures to improve efficiency. Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances. Adjust errors and complaints as necessary. Manage 4–12 subordinate managers overseeing departmental supervisors and a total of 50–100 employees. Execute managerial responsibilities in line with organizational policies and applicable laws, including training, work planning, performance appraisals, discipline, complaint resolution, and implementation of operational procedures. Qualifications
Ability to interact with all levels of management with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience managing and leading a diverse workforce. Strong organizational skills and teamwork orientation. Ability to meet strict deadlines. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of distribution center operations. Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work standing or sitting for extended periods. Ability to traverse and access all areas of a warehouse. Work in a distribution center with varying temperatures. Ability to safely operate around heavy equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, clamps, scissor lifts) in a fast-paced environment.
