HGV Mechanic

We are excited to invite skilled HGV Technicians to join our Transport Department at the Müller Milk & Ingredients Distribution business in our Amesbury Depot. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a prestigious logistics company, maintaining and repairing a modern, well-maintained fleet of vehicles.

The primary purpose of this role is to repair and maintain our HGV fleet to meet both legal and company standards. You will play a crucial role in actively seeking solutions to challenges while embracing a safe and efficient approach to your work.

• Location: Amesbury Depot (SP4 7SZ)
• Contract: Full Time / Permanent
• Shift Pattern: 5 days over 7
• Salary: £20.04 per hour

• Overtime rate: 1.125x hourly rate
• Saturday: 1.125x hourly rate
• Sundays and bank holidays: 1.5x hourly rate
• Unsociable hours (6pm - 4am): 14.25% hourly rate

As an HGV Technician, your role will include, but is not limited to:

• Inspecting and maintaining our HGV fleet
• Preparing vehicles for MOT testing and transporting them to the test centre
• Recording vehicle defects and maintaining accurate records of work performed
• Repairing minor accident damage
• Conducting fault diagnosis
• Prioritizing safety in all aspects of your work

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:

• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
• Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize effectively
• Qualifications: City & Guilds part 2 & 3 / BTEC / IMI in motor vehicle management or equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry
• Commercial experience with HGVs is essential
• Class C+E licence is preferable but not essential
