Customs and Border Protection Officer Job Summary:

Job Description

CBP Officers are responsible for safeguarding the American people by enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.


This is a career ladder position with promotions to the next higher grade level after successful completion of 52 weeks in each grade level. CBP Officers have the opportunity to work at various ports of entry across the country, including airports, seaports, land borders, and internal checkpoints.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Data Analysis: Utilize observational techniques to evaluate facts while applying Federal laws and regulations.

  • Law Enforcement Experience (optional): Possess previous or current law enforcement experience that demonstrates physical inspections skills required for this role such as making arrests seizures fines penalties etc.
